Nathan Camacho What does it take to be a good coach? Few are good at it because pouring into others is not easy.
My friend Nathan Camacho is an unbelievably good athlete and has an analytical mind like I have rarely seen. We talk about his journey to becoming a golf instructor with 20+ years of experience and a Jiu Jitsu instructor.
When you first start out to pursue your passion, it is often a selfish endeavor, but the true beauty is in the coming full circle and having the opportunity to help others in their pursuit. It is where joy is found. That is at the heart of a good coach and I see that in Camacho.

Having multiple juniors finish in top 10 at USKids Golf World Championships, his students participate in USGA"s biggest amateur events. He has taught everyone from beginners to PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour Latin America and Champions Tour players.
There is a lot of insight into the healthy mindset of a competitor in this interview, a really good listen for the parent of the young athlete. It is important to keep in mind the full picture and the end goal when coaching youth and young adults. It is a big responsibility and a good coach has the future of the athlete in mind and not temporary satisfaction.
